WSET is the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, the world’s leading provider of courses and exams in wines and spirits. In collaboration with Moonshine Media we created an educational game to capture the interest of wine novices and experts alike.


WSET wanted to provide an entertaining solution to educate consumers about wines from around the world while also expanding the knowledge of their expert members.


Moonshine came up with an engaging design and user experience. During the game the user is presented with a wine label and is given a limited amount of time to place the bottle in its correct place of origin. To create this interaction we designed a bespoke map complete with a reactive zooming system. This allowed the user to travel virtually through the wine regions of the world all the while becoming a wine master. Lastly, the gamification of the experience meant users could compete against each other for wine supremacy!


Feedback from the client was great, we here at Smile Machine are addicted and working our way steadily up the leader board!!
